Back in 1989 I started my own business, Advanced Business Systems.  I designed color coded filing systems for businesses and the medical community. Remember when you walked into your Dr.'s office and you would see the files on the wall behind the reception desk?  If you lived in New Hampshire, Maine or Vermont there is a good chance I installed that system. 

Advanced Business Systems was built by cold calling in the early years, followed by a strong referral source in later years.  I could write a book on how to get to the decision maker in the least amount of time. Once with the decision maker I had samples for them to touch and compare to what they were already using.

Frequently I would take the sale away and begin to leave, many, many times they would call me back for a few more questions. Before I knew it we were putting together an order. I always lead with a philosophy, "Under sell and over deliver." To this day, I still practice this same philosophy, and maintain a hand full of clients developed back in the early 90's.

Several years later, I was introduced to another business at a Chamber of Commerce mixer.  I built and received a residual income from this business for over 20 years. The main products were a non-alcoholic mouth rinse and a one of a kind toothpaste. Because I was established in the medical field, many of my dental clients and other physicians jumped on board with me which built that business  quickly.

Being an entrepreneur gave me the freedom to experience lots of different adventures in my life.  In addition , I was able to spend a lot of quality time with my two sons and my wife.
